Nissan Interstar Luton Van

Nissan Interstar Luton Van

1. Are the Nissan Interstar and Renault Master the same van?

Yes. They share the same platform, chassis, body panels, and interior. While the Nissan Interstar (formerly known as the NV400) has a slightly different front grille and branding to match Nissan’s design language, it is a "rebadged" version of the Renault Master.

2. Is it built by Renault?

Yes. The Nissan Interstar is manufactured by Renault at their SoVAB (Société de Véhicules Automobiles de Batilly) plant in Batilly, France. This facility handles the production for both the Renault and Nissan versions and until a couple of years ago, also built the Vauxhall/Opel Movano which now shares it platform with the Stellantis range i.e. Citroen, Peugeot and Fiat.

3. Do they share the same engine?

Yes. They use the same powertrains developed by the Alliance.

•    Diesel: Both use the newer 2.0-litre Blue dCi turbo-diesel engines or 2.3-litre dCi in older pre 24MY models.

•    Electric: The latest generations (the Interstar-e and Master E-Tech) share the same electric motors and battery options, such as the 40kWh and 87kWh packs.
